How are royalties calculated?

Royalties at MIXLE are calculated based on several factors:

  • Stream Count: The total number of streams your content receives across platforms.
  • Platform Rates: Each streaming platform has its own per-stream rate (varies by country and subscription type).
  • Your Share: Based on your contract, you receive a percentage of the total royalties generated.
  • Territory: Royalty rates may vary depending on the listener's geographic location.
Formula: Royalties = (Streams × Per-Stream Rate) × Your Share Percentage

When do I receive my royalties?

Royalty distribution follows a standard timeline:

  1. Streaming Platforms Report: Platforms report royalties 1-2 months after the streaming period.
  2. Processing: We process and calculate your share within 2-4 weeks of receiving reports.
  3. Statement Generation: Your statement becomes available in your dashboard.
  4. Balance Update: Funds are added to your available balance for withdrawal.

Note: There is typically a 2-3 month delay between when streams occur and when you receive payment due to platform reporting cycles.

Why did my royalties decrease?

Several factors can cause fluctuations in your royalties:

  • Seasonal Variations: Streaming patterns change throughout the year (holidays, summer, etc.).
  • Stream Count Changes: Natural fluctuation in listener engagement.
  • Platform Rate Changes: Streaming services occasionally adjust their payout rates.
  • Currency Fluctuations: If you receive payments in a different currency.
  • Recoupment: If you have an advance, payments may be applied toward that balance.
